Our commitment:

Environmental matters are fundamentally important to Tramway Forge, as they are to our customers, suppliers and contractors. As a company, we are committed to the care of the environment and we are proud to produce longer lasting products that help reduce the use of finite sources and therefore the long-term amount of waste generated. We strongly encourage the sympathetic restoration of metal work, where possible, helping us to protect the environment and save our heritage.

Our aims:

• We aim to meet as a minimum, our legal environmental requirements and implement environmentally responsible standards where no legislation exists, whilst efficiently producing high quality ironwork.
• We will aim to minimise the impact that our business operations have on the environment and strive to manufacture and restore products in the most energy and material efficient manor possible.
• We will aim to actively involve all employees in environmental issues that relate to the business.
• We aim to protect the health and safety of our employees, customers and surrounding communities, supporting their environmental needs.
• We will aim to minimise waste and pollution.

Our action plan:

To achieve our aims, we will:

• Meet best practice guidelines and legislation and exceed them.
• Provide environmental training for all employees and continue to raise awareness about the environment by encouraging employee participation in these matters.
• Work with customers, suppliers and contractors and our neighboring communities and continually encourage improvement of their environmental performance.
• Manage our operations efficiently and continually evaluate products and processes and find environmentally friendly alternatives, where possible.
• Control and minimise pollution, minimise waste and dispose of such waste in a responsible way.

Tramway Forge is a responsible company, which uses all local products and services, where possible. We employ local craftsmen from the region from local training centres. Our strong links with these centres ensure that skilled craftsmen find employment. This is very important to us because we are committed to keeping skilled craftsmanship alive in the United Kingdom.

This policy is a statement of environmental commitment from Tramway Forge.
